devinlea asked: did you write that abortion paper for fun? -love, devin lea(:

Psh. Yeah! lol. No it’s just something I’ve wanted to do for awhile.

Everyone against abortion, please raise your hand.

Abortion.
“any of various surgical methods for terminating a pregnancy, esp. during the first six months.”

The topic of abortion is considered highly controversial in our country. This surprises me, because the topic of cold-blooded manslaughter isn’t considered controversial. And that’s exactly how I would define abortion. I’d also go as far as to label anyone who does condone abortion as pro-murderers. As our country modernizes and we elect progressively more liberal people into office, it’s obvious that the fight for what is good and morally correct is waning. Our current president is pro-choice. The majority of government officials he has appointed are also pro-choice. Obama has promoted abortion world-wide, while at the same time claiming to “reduce the number of abortions in America”. Irony or pure idiocy? You decide.

There are lots of different excuses or reasoning that people will give when asked about abortion. Some of the most popular ones are, “Well it’s the mother’s body, it should be her choice” and “It’s not a real person yet, it can’t feel anything”. Let’s start with the first one. “It’s the mother’s body”. True. The body hosting the fetus is in fact the mother’s. However, the second that baby was conceived, that body began to be shared. A baby solely depends on its mother for survival. Without the nourishment and protection the mother provides the baby would die. Once you become pregnant, from that very second your body belongs to the baby. “it should be her choice.” You can CHOOSE to use protection, you can CHOOSE to not have sex, and you can CHOOSE to purposefully get pregnant because you actually want a baby. There are millions of choices you can make in your life. Deciding who gets to live and who gets to die is not one of them. If you’ve made the mistake of accidentally getting pregnant, that was your choice, accident or not. Murder should not be a legal option for women to choose. As far as the second reason people often give, what a load of poop. “It’s not a real person yet, it can’t feel anything.” Really? Let’s review the facts. A baby’s heart begins to beat 21 days after it has been conceived. That’s 3 weeks, right around the time when you could first realize you even were pregnant. Heartbeat=Alive human being. I don’t know how else to explain this. I’m going to assume that everyone has heard a heartbeat, especially their own. That same sound is happening inside the chest of your tiny baby. Consequently, it’s also beating right up until the second it dies inside of your belly because you’ve decided “you’re not ready” or “you wouldn’t make a good mother”. The second you kill that baby, its heart stops beating. Whether or not the baby is a human life is not open for religious debate. It is a scientifical fact that your baby is alive, a person and in my opinion, deserves to live the life you gave it.

Let’s talk about genocide. First off, genocide is defined as “the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.” Maybe you feel like this comparison is far fetched. But think about it this way. 3,700 abortions happen in our country every day. 3,700 babies are killed every 24 hours. In the 1750’s, 80% of the Dzunger population were annihilated between 1755 and 1758. The grand total came to about 800,000 deaths. Let’s do some math. That’s 800,000 deaths in 3 years, so that would be somewhere around 730 murders per day. Let’s compare, 3,700 babies are killed per day in this country, and it’s been going on like that for years. 730 people were killed per day in China for three years straight, and it was labeled genocide. Does this make sense to anyone? I can’t make that sound right in my head.

Terrible crimes happen to women in this country. The number of rapes that occur have sky-rocketed. According to the U.S Department of Justice, a woman is raped every two seconds in America. However, it is extremely unlikely that a pregnancy will occur from a sexual crime. The pregnancy-rape tragedy is only at a 5%. But that 5% is devastating. The long term emotional and physical consequences from being raped are detrimental. I am in no way saying that loving a baby that resulted from a rape will be easy. In my opinion, there could be no better remedy for a girl’s troubled mind than to love that little baby. Why exchange a crime for a crime? Rape AND murder? WHY.
Some babies develop mental handicaps inside the womb. These signs are detectable pretty early on. Many women use this as an excuse to commit abortion. “They’d suffer all their life and be a burden on their families.” Could you be any more selfish? Mentally handicapped people have just as much a right to life as you or I do. As far being a burden that is up to you and your family to get over. A handicapped baby shouldn’t be a burden but a joy, just as any other baby should be.

Okay, I’ve given you statistics, facts, examples and my own opinion. It’s time to get more graphic because I understand that the majority of my points are debatable. Please be aware that the following quotes, pictures and text are rather graphic and descriptive. These are medical facts and pictures, not my opinion.

Let me describe two specific types of abortion to you. An early type of abortion is called Suction Curettage Abortion. Basically, the doctor sticks a vacuum inside of the girl’s vagina and sucks the baby into the tube. The baby will either be suctioned in one piece, or will be torn apart as it’s sucked into the vacuum. Here’s an accurate photo of what takes place during a Suction Curettage Abortion.

The late term abortion is called The Dilatation and Evacuation (D&E) Abortion Procedure. The following account of D&E is part of sworn testimony given in US District Court by Dr. Martin Haskell, an abortionist: “And typically when the abortion procedure is started we typically know that the fetus is still alive because either we can feel it move as we’re making our initial grasps or if we’re using some ultrasound visualization when we actually see a heartbeat as we’re starting the procedure. It’s not unusual at the start of D&E procedures that a limb is acquired first and that that limb is brought through the cervix and even out of the vagina prior to disarticulation and prior to anything having been done that would have caused the fetal demise up to that point. When you’re doing a dismemberment D&E, usually the last part to be removed is the skull itself and it’s floating free inside the uterine cavity…So it’s rather like a ping-pong ball floating around and the surgeon is using his forcep to reach up to try to grasp something that’s freely floating around and is quite large relative to the forcep we’re using. So typically there’s several misdirections, misattempts to grasp. Finally at some point either the instruments are managed to be place around the skull or a nip is made out of some area of the skull that allows it to start to decompress. And then once that happens typically the skull is brought out in fragments rather than as a unified piece…” Here’s a chart showing you how exactly that the abortion is performed. If you really need the message drilled in, you can read this extremely disturbing paper. http://www.nrlc.org/ABORTI ON/pba/Haskellinstructiona l.pdf.

Are you disturbed? Are you sick? I hope so. These kinds of procedures are done every single day to thousands of women. Abortion is the coward’s way out. A baby is a blessing and will be the best thing that ever happened to you. If you find yourself in a situation where you’re pregnant and do not wish to be, there are options. Choices you can make that don’t involve murdering your baby. Surprisingly, there are thousands of families in America that are passionately searching for a baby. Giving your baby up for adoption is the most selfless, generous thing you can do for yourself, the child and the adopting family.
